Wind Turbine Generators For Home Electricity

You've decided to set up wind turbine generators for home electricity and now you need to figure out how. Most people turn to the more expensive option of 'buy a wind generator', but there is a better option for most families. You can actually build your own 1000 watt home wind generator for under $150. That's a tremendous savings over the $3200 we just recently priced a new one at. Your homebuilt model will look great (we've built 3 now) and you can build it with regular tools in only a couple days.

What do you need to start?

· Detailed plans for wind turbine generators for home electricity
· Common household tools- cordless drill, wrenches...
· A reliable helper- family, friends maybe
· A small workspace- garage, extra room, basement etc.

Wind turbine generators for home electricity are quite simple machines really. The heart of the generator is a DC motor that acts as a power turbine producing electricity when the blades turn in the wind. You will have to order this from the sources listed in the plans. Don't worry, the DC motor can be shipped directly to your door in only a couple of days. While you are waiting you can get started on the rest of the project.

The detailed plans said to start with the blades, so that's what we did. Balancing the size of the blades with your power output from the DC motor is a little tricky, but not too complicated. Basically the larger the blades, the more power produced and the larger the motor needed. The 1000w wind turbine generators for home electricity that we mentioned earlier needs to have a total blade diameter of 8 feet or individual blades 4 feet long. That catches a lot of wind when it's really blowing. You will need a tower to get your wind generator up to the constant winds. The detailed plans showed us where to obtain free used TV towers that work great. They even showed us sources of free deep cycle batteries too.

When you get all of the parts together just assemble everything when the DC motor arrives. It really is a surprisingly simple project.

We often wonder why they charge so much for new ones? And when those blades start turning and your home wind machine starts producing free electricity for your home you won't be able to stop smiling. Did you know that electrical rates are expected to double next year? Isn't it time you started this project to save on those costs? Let's get started.

Wind Turbine Generators For Home Electricity is the best place to start to lower your energy costs and get started with renewable energy for your home, saving money and our environment in the process.

Our family has been living off the grid since last year, and loving every minute of it. Learning how to build wind turbine generators for home electricity has been well worth the effort, saving us time and money.

Be Free with Wireless Speakers

Are you tired of laying wires through your house, creeping through small places just to get the right sound effect? Wireless speakers are the answer to your headaches. With wireless speakers you gain the freedom to move your music to where you want it to be without the hassles of cables. Planning to have a party outside? Don't move your whole entertainment system outside while you can make use of outdoor wireless speakers which can move right along with the party.

Want to have hi-fi quality sound through your laptop computer? Why should you be tied to wires while using a portable computer? Make use of wireless speakers to give you the freedom to work or play on your computer where you want to, while having the high fidelity sound you deserve.
Here are a few examples of how you can use wireless speakers to improve your way of living.

• Listen to your favorite music collection while taking a bath.

• Have a BBQ or party outside without having to move your whole stereo system.

• You can store all your favorite music on your computer and listen to it anywhere in your home.

• Listen to music while working in the garden.

• When your computer is doing certain time consuming tasks, have it play a sound when it is done with the task or when there is an error and have your wireless speaker notify you while you are lying next to the pool.

• Get the perfect surround sound effect by having the freedom to move the speakers to exactly the right spots without getting tangled in wires.

• Let your computer notify you of upcoming tasks or appointments by playing a sound through your outdoor wireless speakers, while you are washing your car.

• Let your wireless speaker notify you discretely of intruders by connecting it to your alarm system.

• Use you wireless speakers as a portable intercom system.

There are however a few things you need to watch out for when shopping for wireless speakers. Some are listed here:

Interference

Some wireless speakers may interfere with other wireless devices in your house like cordless phones. A good wireless speaker system will allow you to tune it to a different frequency to overcome these interferences.

Battery life

Battery life is not always too great on wireless speakers, as it consumes power to drive the speakers, internal amplifier and RF receiver. So, if you want to use your wireless speakers for extended periods of time, it may be wise to make use of the AC power adaptor. Now this may not always be practical - the whole idea of wireless speakers is to get rid of the wires. Rechargeable batteries might be the answer and some of the models even come with rechargeable batteries -something to consider when you need total freedom, even from power outlets.

Range

Most wireless speakers can work fine within a range of 150 to 300 feet from the transmitter. (Which would be located at the source of sound i.e. your hi-fi or computer) The RF frequency is high enough for it to work through walls and furniture. You do not need a line of sight, but bear in mind that obstacles weakens the signal, and the more obstacles between the transmitter and receiver, the shorter the range will become.

Weatherproof

Outdoor wireless speakers are claimed to be weatherproof, but if you do not need to use your speakers outside all the time, rather store them inside. This will definitely extend the life of your valuable outdoor wireless speakers. If you really need to leave it outside all the time, try to find a spot where it can be hidden from the most harsh weather conditions.

Stereo

Not all wireless speaker systems include two speakers to give you a stereo experience. Especially the outdoor wireless speakers are sold as single units. This can easily be overcome by purchasing two speakers, obviously doubling the price.

Legislation

Wireless speakers use RF signals which may interfere with other RF devices. Make sure that the frequency range is legal in your country. If it is sold by a reputable dealer in your country, this should not be a problem.
Wireless speakers are till a fairly new technology and some still have issues to be sorted out. So you have to do your shopping wisely.

Catastrophic Effects of the Traditional Supine Bench Press

The bench press by far the most popular, but damaging exercise performed in the gym. For many, it represents the metric for ultimate upper body strength, and exhibitionism. Beginning in high school gym class, teenagers are instructed by ignorant PE coach's to measure their strength and even their manhood with the bench press.

You could be at the local gym, and overhear the infamous question, "How much you bench?" The bench press is a ultimate macho metric of your strength plain and simple.

Unbeknownst to the medically immature, habituation of the bench press movement has a mortar and pestal effect on the glenohumeral joint (shoulder joint) while simultaneously annihilating the weak supportive tissue. If you picture the shoulder joint as a shallow cup that only has a very weak suction effect on the long bone of the arm known as the humerus. Overload it with too much weight, or fall on it suddenly, and the net result is usually a subluxation, soft tissue tear or a wicked bursitis. In comparison the hip joint, which is a similar but much larger joint, has an enormous amount of suction to keep the joint connected and is very difficult to dislocate. It has been graphically described to me, by a orthopedic surgeon,as a joint "so strong that, a surgical crow bar is required to separate the joint, when performing hip resurfacing surgery. Point being, that when God invented the weak shoulder joint, he screwed up. The joint is way too shallow, and there is not enough suctional pressure to hold it in place. Moreover, the supportive musculature known as the rotator cuff muscles are paper thin, and easily tear.

If you are looking to develop the broad thick chest muscle, you must understand the anatomical flow of the muscles fibers, and construct your conditioning with this in mind. The chest muscle, known as the pectoralis is a penneform muscle, meaning feather like in appearance and flow. Therefore the least damaging movement that should be used is a non hyper-extended cable or dumb bell fly. It is important to remember that arm movements should never surpass the horizontal plane. Hyper-extend your arms beyond 180 degrees, and expect a ligament impingement, possible dislocation and pain.

Failure to respect your God given normal range of motion of the shoulder joints, and these are some of the medical anomalies which you can expect!

1. Tendinitis - Is perhaps the most common of shoulder problems. As we move into our 30s and 40s our muscles and tendons begin to undergo a structural weakening because of the aging process. By age 40 or 45, simple tendinitis can degenerate into actual tearing of the muscle tissue. Toss is poorly controlled bench pressure maneuver, and your in a world of hurt. Break out the Motrin.

2. Rotator Cuff Injuries- Breaks in the rotator cuff muscles can result from the
progressive inflammation of the tendons, repetitive strain through overuse and hyper-extension of the arms.

3. Bursitis - Similar to tendinitis. Inflamed bursae may become thickened and reduce the "free" space
in the joint, thus restricting movement and creating discomfort with most movements.

4. Osteoarthritis - Joint cartilage breaks down, and the joint becomes sticky and rough.
Degenerative arthritis is often associated with wear-and-tear in the joints over a long period of time. The AC joint is particularly susceptible because,as we age, it degenerates faster than any other joint in the body. Arthritis in the glenohumeral joint usually appears somewhat later, and may be related to trauma earlier in life or rotator cuff problems.
Besides being painful, shoulder injuries can lead to "frozen shoulder," which is like having a rusted bolt for a shoulder joint. This is very common in over abusers such as bench press jocks, baseball pitchers and long distance swimmers. When you get to this stage, it is very difficult to manage without major surgery.

5. Subluxation - A spontaneous popping in and out of the shoulder joint when under direct pressure. Repetitive subluxations will cause the shoulder to become very arthritic and painful over time.

Symptoms of bench press induced shoulder injuries:

Difficulty with extending arms over head or backwards

Difficulty sleeping on your belly or the shoulder with the arms extended to the sides.

Difficulty turning the steering wheel of a car.

Difficulty with daily activities such as washing your hair removing a shirt, or carrying heavy loads.

If you are experiencing any one of the above listed problems, be sure to consult a qualified physician for prompt evaluation and treatment, if it is not too late. Following your evaluation, obtain a referral to a qualified medical exercise specialist/ certified personal trainer, and learn how to stay healthy and medically safe. Remember " An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!"

Portable Mp3 Player Safety

At work, the gym, in shopping centers and even in schools—portable mp3 players seem to be popping up everywhere. In conjunction with music downloading websites, these mobile music gadgets can store thousands of songs and they provide listeners on the move with hours of entertainment.

Due to longer battery life and increased memory, people are listening to their portable mp3 players more and more. Portable players provide relaxation, entertainment and motivation; however, there are some safety guidelines to follow when listening to a portable mp3 player:

Don’t turn up the volume too loud.

This is the most common danger and probably the easiest to avoid. Overexposing our ears to loud music can cause permanent hearing loss. According to Dangerous Decibels, 5.2 million 6-19 year olds have hearing loss directly related to noise exposure. This number is projected to rise because of the number of teens who listen to loud music.

Doctors say sound with levels below 70 decibels (dBA) pose no risk of hearing loss, whereas 85 dBA or higher, with exposure to eight or more hours a day, pose a significant risk of permanent hearing loss.

A good rule of thumb while listening to music—if you can’t hear someone speaking in a normal voice, the music is too loud.

Some manufacturers like iPod provide a free download on their website that sets a limit on the volume. This is an excellent option and especially helpful for parents of kids who like loud music and don’t understand the harmful effects. You can also purchase headphones that limit background noise so you don’t have to turn up the music.

Don’t wear headphones when running or biking near traffic.

One of the most common times to enjoy music is while exercising. Music makes the miles go by faster, provides motivation and helps you keep a steady pace. Nevertheless, be especially careful when running or biking on the street. Loud music can easily drown out an approaching car, an angry dog or a warning beep from a horn.

We can take precautions to avoid a potentially dangerous situation: While running or biking on a road, turn the music down so you can hear traffic and stay alert to your surroundings. Choose a route that avoids busy streets and allows you to run on sidewalks. Run in pairs—one person can listen to the music while the other person stays alert to cars and other hazards. Parks, college campuses early in the morning and trails provide a safe place to run and a change of scenery.

Be cautious when wearing headphones in isolated areas.

Women should be especially careful about listening to loud music in isolated areas, like parking lots and alleyways. The music can be distracting and hinder your hearing. This makes it easy for people to sneak up on you undetected. You can become an easy target for criminals. Avoid these areas, be aware of your surroundings and don’t become an easy mark.

Be careful in certain work situations, recreating and during athletic competitions.

Our sense of hearing plays a huge role in informing us of our surroundings. Be especially careful in work situations where you depend on your hearing to be aware of your surroundings. Someone could easily enter your workspace undetected if you don’t hear them.

Mp3 players have become popular on ski slopes, in skate parks and at other recreational areas. Make sure your music doesn’t interfere with your awareness of other skiers or skaters. Speed and dulled senses are not a good combination.

Road Runners Club of America discourages runners from using mp3 players during a race because they aren’t able to hear specific race instructions and won’t be aware of other racers.

Most importantly use common sense when listening to a portable mp3 player.

Listen To Internet Radio Through An FM Stereo With These Steps

I love listening to the Howard Stern show on my satellite radio while I'm driving in my car. I also have the ability to listen to him from his website through my computer. There is just one problem with that. Who wants to sit in front of the computer all day listen to the radio when you can be doing other things around the house? Connecting an FM transmitter to my computer saved me all that aggravation and was much easier than hooking up my stereo's speakers to it.

An FM transmitter is simple and relatively cheap broadcasting tool which is simple to use. Another great thing about them is that they don't require any special equipment or know-how to hook up. Trust me when I say that after you have experienced of hearing your favorite radio programs in full high-quality stereo sound, you'll look back and question why you never thought of this earlier. Here is how you can now do things all around the house listening to your favorite songs and shows:

  • What type of FM radio transmitter will best for your needs? The answer to this question depends on a number of different factors such as size, transmission distance, power supply method, amount of FM transmitter frequencies its portability and most importantly price. There numerous models available which will fit every one of this variables.
  • Now that you have an idea of what type of FM transmitter works best for you, go ahead and buy it. You can find them at electronics stores or websites specializing in electronics. They aren't that expensive, ranging in price from $40 to $100. Usually ones with a better transmission distance are the most expensive.
  • Next, hook up your new FM transmitter to a power source and then to the computer. It couldn't hurt to go over the manufacturer's instructions just in case you run into any problems. FM transmitters are powered by a number of different types of sources. It all depends on the model. Some are powered by batteries, computer USB port or even AC power but whatever the model, it should come with all the necessary connection cables.
  • A USB compatible FM transmitter is plugged into a USB port of any computer. If you are using an USB compatible FM transmitter and not getting any sound, try changing the speaker or audio device settings on your computer from the default settings to USB.
  • One of your last steps is to find an available FM frequency on your FM radio. Those manufacturer's instructions you read in an earlier steps will give you a list of the frequencies available with your new FM transmitter. Don't panic if you can't find a frequency which will work. It's a pretty common issue that can be resolved rather quickly.
  • You're finally done. Now sit back and listen to your favorite Internet radio music or program with the freedom to move away from your computer.
